Nicola here, the person behind The Cocoa Pod - a craft chocolate enthusiast on a mission to show the world just how interesting chocolate can be.

With over 20 years experience in ethical supply chains and the Fairtrade movement, I fell deeply down a chocolate rabbit hole 10 years ago and haven’t found my way out since. In fact, I must admit, I’m actively encouraging people to join me down here!

This chocolate, cocoa / cacao world is fascinating, and I've concluded that you can learn a lot about the world via the lens of chocolate. Cultures, stories, systems, botany, science, ethics and geography...the list goes on...but lets not forget food, health, nutrition and, of course, taste and flavour.

Craft chocolate can be bright, fruity, nutty, spicy, even floral - these are natural flavour notes that you can get from good quality cocoa beans, completely different to the chocolate that most of us are used to.

Through The Cocoa Pod's chocolate tasting experiences, I will introduce you to all of this in relaxed, welcoming spaces where you can slow down, taste properly, and discover a whole new world of chocolate...or discover a whole new world via the lens of chocolate.
